Coming by car & Routes
Driving is easy and increasingly popular. Journey time from Dunkirk or Calais, especially overnight or on Sundays is usually no more than eleven hours and the only limit to what you take is the size of your car and how many people come with you! We recommend www.aferry.com for the most competitive ferry prices. Use the Eurotunnel website for their prices.
Our recommended route takes you through France, Belgium, Luxembourg - and some of the cheapest fuel in Europe, Germany and into Austria. Recommended GPS direction titles are 'Lille', 'Luxembourg', Pirmasens', Munich, 'Worgl' and 'Niederau'. As you approach Niederau from the valley road turn left into the village and left again after about 250m by the hotel Austria. The Staffler is at the bottom off the hill on the right. You can't miss it! We’ve added some additional information applicable to travelling by car this season. For details click here
Car and minibus hire from your arrival airport in Austria or Germany is quick and simple and often represents good value if you combine transfers to the Staffler with the freedom offered to ski resorts around the region.
From Munich and Salzburg airports simply pickup signs to Innsbruck and follow the directions above. From Innsbruck pick up directions for the A12 motorway to Munich and exit at the first Worgl exit. Travel through the town turning right signed the 'Wildschonau' and on to Niederau.
German and Austrian trains are clean, modern, run on time and are cheap. Trains arrive at Worgl from all our gateway airports. Taxi transfers from here to the Staffler are no more than about fifteen minutes. Timetables and prices are available on the Austrian Railways booking page www.oebb.at
